Langland, Chenin Blanc, David & Nadia, Swartland, 2025
justerini & brooks tasting note
More chalky and powdery than the lime- and green-fruited debut 2024, the 2025 Langland combines white pepper spice with considerable dry extract and a fine, controlled freshness. It is detailed and textural without heaviness, its cool fruit and mineral profile extending across a long, composed finish. Langland comes from the upper of three contours in a cool, east-facing vineyard planted in 1971 on the sand-like, pure decomposed granite of the Paardeberg. The site contains approximately three medium-berried Chenin clones. Just 1,200 bottles were produced.
