Elpidios, Swartland, 2024

Dark-fruited, brooding and assured, the 2024 Elpidios offers polished Mediterranean flavours of black fruit, tapenade, herbs and brine. It has good density and savoury depth, with the combination of concrete and neutral oak preserving freshness while giving the wine a composed, refined texture. A blend of 48% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 13% Carignan, 12% Pinotage and 8% Cinsault. The proportion of Syrah is expected to increase in future vintages, while 2025 will be the final Elpidios to include Carignan.
