Puligny-Montrachet, Les Folatières, 1er Cru, 2014

2017 - 2029justerini & brooks tasting note
An arresting combination of richness, minerality and silky floral notes, supremely classy and elegant. This has surprising concentration and intensity, yet manages to deliver both without any sense of force. Archetypal Puligny and impressively long. A great Puligny vineyard of poor stony soils that makes for wine of slight shape situated above Clavoillon at the same altitude as Chevalier Montrachet. The vines average 50 years old. Half of the vines comes from the 1er Cru part of the En la Richarde lieu-dit, next door to Leroy's En La Richarde parcel.
