Les Tourelles de Longueville, Pauillac, 2016
A beautifully poised Pauillac, combining ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry with notes of cedar, tobacco, graphite and liquorice. The palate is generous and supple, with fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity and an appealing savoury edge. Approaching a decade in bottle, it is developing lovely complexity while retaining its vibrant fruit, finishing long with notes of dark berries, spice and pencil shavings.
critic reviews
The 2016 Les Tourelles de Longueville is a very beautiful wine. Pliant, supple and inviting, the 2016 has so much to recommend it. Dark red cherry, red plum, tobacco, menthol and licorice are all laced together in this creamy, wonderfully expressive, silky Pauillac. The Tourelles will be impossible to resist young, and should drink well for another 10-15 years, maybe more.
